Cavotec wins shore power order valued at EUR 6.65 million from world-leading shipping line

news-details

Cavotec has signed a contract with one of the world’s largest shipping lines to supply shore power equipment for new-build container ships. The total order value is EUR 6.65 million, and deliveries will take place between late 2023 and early 2025. The contract further strengthens Cavotec’s leading position in the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

The order is for Cavotec’s PowerFit units, which are complete containerized solutions for the high-voltage connection of vessels to shore power. The PowerFit units enable dramatic reduction of local air and noise pollution at ports, minimising vessels’ environmental impact.

“We're very pleased to receive this repeat order which is based on our successful co-operation with the customer over the last few years. We look forward to helping more ships in the world switch off their auxiliary generators and contributing to improved air quality and reduced noise,” says Patrick Mares, President of the Ports & Maritime Division at Cavotec.

Ports around the world have used Cavotec shore power solutions since the 1980s. Currently, more than 1,000 ocean-going vessels are fitted with Cavotec’s cutting-edge shore power connection technologies.
